Google has announced a new project to give One Gigabyte a Second Internet Service to 500,000 households at a competitive price.

That is One Gigabyte per SECOND. Usually Internet Speeds are measured in Megabytes, and you usually get about 70 MBS for about $50-60 a month, so Google’s Internet would be approximately 1000 MBS! Holy Crap!

Anyway, if it’s at a competition price, then is Google competing with popular ISPs that sell about 70 MBS for $70? Or is it setting a new standard for Internet Service? we won’t know until later.
